As part of its social commitment plan, the French Football Federation (FFF) launched a call for associative projects a few months ago in order to benefit from support on various themes.

Good news: Football Ecologie France has succeeded in convincing the FFF to get involved!

The Federation's commitment plan sends out a strong signal to the world of soccer

Presented on October 19, 2023 by FFF President Philippe Diallo, the French Football Federation's societal commitment plan marks a determination to respond to today's challenges. With the mission of reinforcing the fight against all forms of violence, ensuring parity, diversity and inclusion, and adapting to environmental challenges, this ambitious plan is a promise of commitment in three concrete areas.

On the environmental front, the FFF has announced its intention to raise awareness of climate issues among 100% of its licensees, i.e. over 2 million people. This action is part of a global vision in which soccer is becoming a major player in the ecological transition.

An obvious synergy

As the FFF is keen to make a commitment to both environmental and social issues, the link with the association, which is active in the field of popular and inclusive ecology, seemed obvious. Over the coming months, Football Ecologie France, the Fédération Française de Football and other associations (Consortium Planet Sporting Club / Ecolosport, PLAY International, Football Mission) will be working together to raise environmental awareness among fans, volunteers and licensees, particularly at FFF events.

For several years, Football Ecologie France has regularly accompanied the FFF at its events to raise public awareness. This has notably been the case at the Rentrées du Foot, the Foot PITCH U13 Festival and at Les Bleus matches.

Backed by its experience in the fields of awareness-raising and activation adapted to the event format, the association will be able to provide concrete support to the FFF in this area.

The association has developed the concept of eco-supporters and now has effective tools for raising soccer fans' awareness of environmental issues, such as the #TousEcoSupporters stand, which has already proved its worth at various events.

Supported by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME), this stand combines several educational and fun areas, suitable for all types of public, and will be on display all summer long in the Olympic and Paralympic Games fan zones.

A promising collaboration for eco-friendly soccer

Working with the FFF represents a major step forward for Football Ecologie France. This collaboration will enable us to reach a very wide audience and accelerate awareness of environmental issues on a large scale. With over 2 million licensees and soccer's considerable influence in France, this initiative has the potential to foster a profound societal transformation.

Soccer Ecologie France is proud of this collaboration with the FFF, which marks an important milestone. Together, we will work towards a more sustainable future that respects our planet, using the power and aura of soccer to inspire and mobilize around these crucial issues.

The FFF's commitment is in line with the efforts of many soccer leagues and districts already working alongside Football Ecologie France. Together, we will make soccer a vehicle for ecological transformation and solidarity.
