A green start to the AS Jacques-Cartier Saint-Malo season
In northern Brittany, one club has decided to get the season off to a good start: AS Jacques Cartier Saint-Malo. Anxious to limit its impact on the planet, the club has launched two important initiatives for this new season, by changing equipment supplier and organizing a sports equipment collection. Let's take a closer look at these two concrete actions.
A second life for sports equipment
In collaboration with L'Équipière, a sports recycling center based inRennes, AS Jacques Cartier Saint-Malo has set up a collection scheme for sports equipment. This initiative is part of a circular economy approach aimed at reducing waste and making sport accessible to all.
For the past three years, L'Équipière has been giving a second life to sports equipment by collecting, checking and reselling it at low prices in their solidarity store. This project enables thousands of people to purchase equipment at lower cost, while limiting waste.

To mark the start of the new school year, a collection bin was set up at the Borderie stadium throughout September. Club members, supporters and residents of Saint-Malo were invited to drop off their sports equipment, clean and in good condition: clothes, shoes, balls or even sports books and guides. All these items will be recycled by L'Équipière and will find a new use in the weeks to come.
This simple action contributes to a more caring society while protecting the environment, and perfectly reflects the values of sport!
Recyclable jerseys made from recycled materials
At the same time, AS Jacques Cartier Saint-Malo has reviewed its choice of equipment supplier. The club has opted for Nolt, a French brand offering shirts made from recycled polyester, manufactured in Europe and fully recyclable. This choice significantly reduces the environmental impact of the team's outfits.
Today, more and more players are emerging to enable clubs to equip themselves in a more eco-friendly way. Brands such as Nolt, Sillona and Rebond are enabling clubs to acquire high-quality sets of shirts and balls, while paying careful attention to the way these essential elements of soccer are produced.

A promising start to the rest of the season
By collaborating with players such as L'Équipière and Nolt, AS Jacques Cartier Saint-Malo is launching its season in the best possible way. The club is showing that it is possible to easily implement actions that bring sport more into line with values and respect for the planet. These first actions of the season are promising, and we wish our member every success for the rest of the season, both in sporting and ecological terms.
