Short circuits and sustainable food: an AMAP at RC Chambéry 🥕👨🌾🌱
Because sport, nutrition and the environment are closely linked, RC Chambéry, a club based on the outskirts of Bordeaux, has embarked on a program to facilitate access to quality food products...

As part of RC Chambéry's club project, the transmission of civic values is structured via an educational approach that complements sporting activities. Since 2020, the club has been working to develop an environmental project with the support of Football Ecologie France. In line with this environmental project, the club is devising and proposing actions to enable its members to play, follow and enjoy soccer in a more sustainable way.
"For ethical consumption: let's eat in solidarity, healthily and locally!"
Since June 2022, AMAP La Ruche has taken up residence at Villenave d'Ornon's Brossolette stadium on the premises of RC Chambéry.
Every Friday, the association offers its baskets to local members and residents. This project provides access to local, seasonal food products and raises consumer awareness of sustainable, fair-trade and responsible eating. The club also plays its role as a social player in the neighborhood, bringing together all types of public.

What is an AMAP?
𝐀ssociation pour le 𝐌aintien de l'𝐀griculture 𝐏aysanne. An AMAP is an association of consumers whose aim is to promote the maintenance of peasant agriculture by enabling a direct relationship between a local producer and the consumer without intermediaries, and by guaranteeing a regular income for the producer.

"The AMAP distributes its produce on Friday evenings, during soccer training sessions, enabling the two associations to meet and exchange ideas.
The curious come to see the vegetables, the bread, and learn about the AMAP system. The fact that the sporting world and the world of consumers are committed to a virtuous diet is essential for closing the loop. " Noémie - Volunteer for AMAP la Ruche
"This partnership is a building block in our more global approach to soccer committed to sustainability, responsibility and solidarity. In line with our club project, we aim to offer our members alternatives and innovations in all areas of sustainable development. We are also delighted to be able to forge partnerships such as the one with La Ruche, and to mobilize the local associative fabric. " Guillaume Latrille - President of RC Chambéry
