FC Gauriaguet Peujard has launched an ambitious and inspiring project combining sport and environmental education. The project came about thanks to cooperation between the soccer club and an association dedicated to environmental education, FEF.
In 2023, following the Trophées Initiatives Nature call for projects launched by FC Girondins de Bordeaux's "Cœur Girondins", FCGP's directors, committed to an educational project, decided to work with Football Écologie France to integrate an environmental dimension into their activities.

The development and structuring of this project led to the organization of an Ecological Football Fresco workshop during the Easter vacation soccer camp. The workshop, which brought together educators, supervisors and parents, raised awareness of environmental issues using soccer as a medium. Discussions and intergenerational exchanges led to the idea of creating a vegetable garden within the club.

Setting up this garden required considerable technical and logistical support. With the support of an elected official and agents from the town of Gauriaguet, a growing area was defined and prepared. The announcement of the planting quickly mobilized volunteer parents to take part in the project.

Pedagogical, educational and ecological gardens respond to an essential need to reconnect humans with nature and better understand its cycles. This project highlights the importance of working together, with an emphasis on sharing and solidarity.
This initiative also demonstrates the ability of a soccer club to offer educational activities that benefit the general interest. With the support of local authorities and the commitment of supervisors and managers, the active participation of young members and their parents is multiplied. Such projects enrich the educational aspect that sports clubs must develop and structure.
