Soccer clinic and nature walk... From environmental education to soccer ⚽🌱

When soccer training rhymes with education... In 2023, more and more soccer clubs are organizing soccer training courses that include time dedicated to social and environmental issues. As a privileged time for living together and sharing, we take part in these training courses to raise awareness and activate the young participants.

During the school vacations in Bordeaux, we organized an innovative and educational event to raise awareness among FC Talence trainees. Following on from a PEF (Programme Éducatif Fédéral) field workshop on the theme of biodiversity, we gathered in the club foyer for the screening of a mini-film on the biodiversity of the Bois de Thouars, directed by Philippe Dondon, a Talence citizen with a passion for photography and nature.

Following on from this, we took to the Thouars woods for a "nature walk". We wandered through the woods near the club's grounds, with the aim of developing the young participants' awareness of nature and the environment around them.

"Get some fresh air, slow down, discover an ecosystem and spend some time in nature".

Through 4 themed points of interest on trees, fruit, birds and mushrooms, our route was illustrated by focus points commented on by the Talence BiodiverCité association, which had prepared the ground with a tailor-made interpretation trail.

In the end, the enthusiasm and active participation of FC Talence's youngsters highlighted the value of a soccer club organizing this type of action and actively committing itself to the ecological and solidarity-based transition.
