On Friday February 2, at the traditional Volunteer Potluck,AS Dirinon, its International Tournament and Football Écologie France, represented by Arnaud Toudic (Vice-Chairman of the association), formalized their partnership in front of an audience of around 200 people.

AS Dirinon and its international tournament: a long-standing commitment to the environment

The Tournoi International de Dirinon is a national example of commitment to the environment and the organization of a sustainable event. For over 15 years, the TID has been multiplying its initiatives and has a genuine waste management policy:

  • Throughout the tournament, teams and spectators have access to more than thirty sorting points within the sports arena.

  • Playful ashtrays are also available at various locations.

  • For food and drink, AS Dirinon provides reusable cutlery and trays, as well as ecocups

And that's not all: to take waste management even further, after the tournament the organizing committee and its volunteers collect the remaining waste and sort the yellow garbage cans again, leaving only what can really be recycled.

On the transport front, a free shuttle bus runs around the neighboring towns to bring people to the tournament.

One goal: to go even further!

Soccer Écologie France, through awareness-raising tools and the development of alternative solutions, will support the club and its famous tournament in reducing their ecological footprint.

These actions could take a number of forms, such as the Ecological Football Fresco workshops for youngsters, the search for partnerships, or the introduction of alternative forms of mobility (car-sharing, bus, etc.).

FEF's presence at the tournament on May 18 and 19 will be an opportunity to affirm these areas of progress, and to propose eco-responsible solutions for all stands and commissions. This partnership should enable the ASD-TID to continue the progress it has made over the years in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility.

We are proud to support this club and its tournament in strengthening its ecological policy! Follow the ecological news of AS Dirinon and its International Tournament all year round on our social networks and via our newsletter.
